A Compass on the B Train (The Alphabet Game, 2018 Edition)

This is part 2 of our sequence of events when we played the Alphabet game last month on the subway. Check out the master post here for a more thorough explanation.

Yesterday's post was from the A train, so on we go to the B train...

At 9am I'm at 59th Street, having recently disembarked from an A train, waiting for a B.

It rolls in at 9:04, and five minutes later, at 9:09, I'm talking to Tiffany, who has a whole movie theme on her leg, including this compass, from the Pirates of the Caribbean:


That's Jack Sparrow's compass [click through to read the compass' own wiki page] and was inked by Todd Griesch at Forever Studio (@forever_studio_tattoo) in Longmont, Colorado. It is based on this:

That was it for the B train, as I hopped off at West 4th to catch a C train.

An idea... (or: Economous Musgrove Chapter 1 Part 1)

I just had a crazy thought: I have an m/s that has not gone anywhere for a long while so perhaps I could share it with you all 500? 1000? words at a time. Perhaps feedback might get it moving? Perhaps it might be cool to let you all roam the Half-Continent again? It will be un-edited, first-drafty (draughty - holes in it, get it?) , and like un-spellchecked (not a real verb) but what do you think? Still here! Still here!

Just in case you thought I had shuffled off somewhere, I am still about, honest, being very preoccupied about editing (actually a major rewrite - you should see all the green pen scribbled over each page, the inserted pages with even more green scribblings) and slack about blogging. I heard once that you need to post at least once a week to be considered a real blog, so I don't know where that leaves us... Just thought I would acknowledge that "clede" (a corruption of Mr Hranac's 'cledu' verificon word) meaning a country dance, and most likely "verger" (coined by Alyosha's daughter) meaning a builder of fortifications, might well have a place in the Half-Continent. 'Tis a bit perplexing about how such things work though; can I even have them to use? They are other people's stuff after all. I could sit here and just plunder you all and never have to come up with my own stuff - though where is the fun in that...! endless invention is ent...
